In some ways it might look like the world got better, but I think it's just about the same. As Sang said, we have the same problems, just in different ways. Even if it sounds a bit depressing, I think we should still try to look at the bright side and see that we can always strive to make improvements in this world. The problems might be the same, but our attitude towards those problems might change as time passes. It's important for us to always be aware of those problems though. Sometimes we're too self-satisfied with our achievements that we fail to notice the fact that we don't have much.

I don't think that the world can necessarily be said if the world is better or worse. I think that this is because bad cannot be properly compared with bad. I think the bad aspects of this world just change. Previously, in history, women did not have as many rights. But now, it can be argued that children still are not with full rights. Bullying used to only be with interaction in person, but with advances in technology, bullying has gotten much worse because it is allowed to be more widespread because of the aid of technology.

Comparing to the 19th century, I think the world has become way better. Women in many countries can now vote, divorce, buy property, attend school, and attain a nice job with a high salary. They are still considered inferior to men in many aspects because of the previous eras but they have earned much more rights than before. Just earlier this month, Park Geun Hye became the first female president of South Korea. This woman obviously proves that our world has definitely changed.

I don't know if the world is better right now. I feel like in the terms of whether it's better or worse, it's hard to decide. If one problem is solved, another problem comes up. Some inequalities and problems from 19th century has disappeared in this society, but it is replaced with other problems.

Honestly, I think the world remained the same. It is neither better nor worse. Old issues such as racism, sexism etc. did not disappear. They may have faded away but they still exist. Also some were simply replaced with different issues. As long as people exist, there are always going to be problems. The world, a place full of problems, remains the same.

Well to me the world is good and bad so its a bit of in between both sides. and i would say there are things that we don't really know about because they not spoken or mentioned. which is a mystery but based Is our world so good? my answer would be no because it need to have someone that is bad and corrupted to be in our society. and speaking about the doll house their society has always been corrupted by some individual so our world is also not good at all.

I think the world definitely did get better than in the twentieth century for women as well as for African Americans. But I agree that we have big problems still today. I think that no matter how much time passes or how much problems we solve, there is always going to something wrong that needs to be fixed. I think a world without problems doesn't exist.

I think it is getting better but I don¡¯t know if our world will be better forever. I think there will be a point where our society corrupts and get worse again. In Korean society, there are some people saying that the people¡¯s equality is changing to women having more power than man. As there were many crimes done by man to woman, there are more laws made for women. So, one prediction can be that women will have power over man which is opposite to our past history.

I think its kind of meaningless to discuss whether our world got better or worse because it depends on what kinds perspective you focus on. Technologically and globally, we can say that the world got better. Instead of waiting for hundreds of months to send a message to people on other side of the earth, now we have internet which enables us to communicate with other people instantaneously. However, those technologies ruined our environment and also the society in other aspects. Because people are so busy with their IT products, people don't really communicate with REAL people around them. So i think instead of trying to figure out whether the world improved a lot or not, I think we should focus on how to decrease the problems we have in this world.

I consider the world as a two faced nature. But i see that we mostly see the world as a good place because there are things such as medie and tv, that tries to hide us from the ugly face of the world. And i think that we should know about the fact that there is something wrong from thr workd, so we would know and try to make the world as a better world

Well one reason of why many of us think that the world today has changed from before is because what we believe we have changed has only decreased or been replaced. To some extent, we have decreased a lot of those problems and made what we call a better world. For example racism and sexism, as time has passed much of racism and sexism decreased, or many people think that there no longer exists more, which many are wrong because they do not notice that in many societies they don't acknowledge those problems.

I personally believe that increase in human rights is the key to social development around the world. If we look around the world today, it is lucid that the less developed countries tend to value human rights much less than developed countries. I believe that in general as the societies and countries around the world developed that the world has actually become a better place as it tends to place more weight on human rights.

The world is not so good but is good to some extent. But old issues such as conflicts, racism, war, and all other negative perspective still remains. People say that it is possible to change the world into a better environment to live in. I do say yes to it as well. Comparing the world to its previous form i.e. back in the centuries, people are now more educated, are living in higher standard of life and knows stuff.

I also agree with most of you guys. I don't think that the world is a better place than the past. On the outside shell of modern society, our world looks more convenient for most of us with the onset of technology and a higher standard of living than before. We have faster transportation, easier communication, and the technology to make our food bigger and more nutritious. Like some of you mentioned, we also have smartphones which let us do everything anywhere. But if we look deeper, the modern world has as many problems as the past. Sure, race and gender discrimination may have decreased, and we may be more open minded. But there is still inequality and other problems that we think are gone; these problems just exist in places we don't care about. In places like India or other developing countries, there are still racism and sexism. Also, there is inequality between developed nations and third world countries. Just the name "third-world" is a sign of inequality. Since some nations are more powerful than others, and the world is more connected now, the nations falling behind are left with a bunch of problems that we don't really know or care about. I don't think our world is a better place, just more unfair.

I definitely think that our generation now is much more developed than beofre, but I cant really saywhether our world now is better. I think its about the same then as now because first of all, our social expectations are different then and now. Back then, women had barely any rights, but it was normal in that time. These days yeah women.got a lot more power but still, children dont have as much rigts. Then maybe in the future, children will gain more rights too and so on.
