If I were a girl in Ancient Greece who was about to marry, I might just follow the culture, since everyone in that society followed. However, if I just go back to that period with my mind, then I might disagree and dislike marrying with someone parents decided for me. In addition, since my mind is saying that marrying to someone is when I really that women so, in ancient Greece, I will not be really loving the partner that my parents decided so it is not a marriage.

I think for me, it really depends on the situation. If at the time, I had someone I love already, and he loves me back, I would want to run away with him. But, if that werent the case, I would just go with it because what would I do if I run away? How would I provide for myself?

well to me that would depends on the situation or the position im in to decide whether or not to run or ignore the problem. if im rich than whatever because i have to money to change anything. but if im a poor person than things would change and had to suffer or escape to pain and suffering brought on me.

I think it would be miserable to marry with random, old man whom your parents arranged for me, and I would definitely run away. However, during ancient Greek time, I think my values would be different that I would marry an old man without any feelings. I would not question social expectancy if every other girl marries and lives fine like me. I am not sure what I would do if I hated my future husband much...I usually do not let things I d not like to happen, so perhaps I might then choose to run away.

As a guy i am just gonna give my own opinion about marriage. We may frown at marriages in the past because women got married in the mid-teen years, however, we must know that customs back then were not the same as it is now. They have changed as time passed so if I were a man getting married to a woman who was approximately half my age, it would not have come as a very big surprise to me.

I think if I was born into a society like that and I was trained to accept that type of lifestyle as somethign that's natural, then I wouldn't mind that I'm marrying someone 15 years older than me or that I have no freedom or rights in Greece.
