I think water comes out often because it's a really important thing for us to live and survive. Right now, we think we have an unlimited source of water because we know how to use our resources. But back then, if they didn't have a river beside them, they couldn't live there. Most of the civilizations we learned about were formed at river valleys too. Also, even though they had certain ways to control nature, like making irrigation canals and dikes, sometimes the force of nature would overpower them and destroy them. So I guess that gave them some kind of fear towards nature, especially water.

I think water is the center of attention when it comes to creation myths because water can bring life and death. As everyone else said, water is vital for humans, animals, and plants to live. On the other hand, water can kill hundreds of people through floods, typhoons, and tsunamis. The sun brings life and death too but I think people can survive a few months without the sun because we can use electricity to grow plants and guide us through the dark. However, without water, humans can only survive one week.

I also agree with everyone above. Water is considered to be one of the main sources of life. So I think that made many people in different societies to believe that water played a big role in creation myths.

im agree with everyone in here which almost all of us have said it was part of culture which we couldnt survive without water, and the source of water have become the biggest reason where do they have to settled their group (if they were nomadic). but im interesting with elijah's opinion with that they dont want to say if that universe started with nothing, somehow maybe they need something logical to them.

I think the reason why the creation myths mention that water was the first thing in our world is that water is our source of life. Everywhere in our world contains water, even in our body, most part of our body is made of water. Also, water can symbolize and mean a lot of things as we discussed in class, so this might be the reason why water was the first thing in our world.

Water is the main supply that we need for survival. I guess that is part of the reason why its an essential part of creation myth. FOr instance if we were to go on a desert, food and water are probably the most necessary items. Especially since desert is so dry, water would be essential. You would not be able to survive long without water.

I think that water plays a very important part of life and it is necessary in order to live. Without water not only humans but other important food sources such as trees cannot survive. Also in order to grow crops from land to eat the soil needs enough water. So I think basically almost everything comes and is made from water.

I saw some of the comments that says water is a source of life... but it that always true? Organisms do rely on the water but its not always the source of life..... i mean they do take up the main part of living source... However, there are many other factors that support life.... Than what could be other source of life? I want to think differently...

I think reason why water is so important in most creation myth is because water is what matters. If we look at every civilizations, they all started near the water. I think people who actually wrote those creation myth acknowledge the importance of water and emphasized that in their story. I kinda like kevins comment as well. Water is the most important thing to humans since 70 percent of human body is made up of water.
