I believe that you guys all watched the Mid Summer Night's Dream play! The whole play was mostly about the love relationship, on how it was being messed up by Puck's mistake. Puck puts the magical flower potion on the lovers to love each other so no one would be heart broken. Puck first makes a mistake but in the end, lovers are together.
What do you think about this magical flower potion? What if this existed in real life?

I didn't really like it. The whole confusions throughout the story was all because of that flower, which was meant to be a good thing. Even though Puck was trying to end the love triangles and make happy couples, it is so dangerous to gurantee the "right" couples. So, though the flower could possibly make lovers happier, it would ended up the world unrealistic and SO complicated. I cannot imagine people immediately falling in love with somebody or with animals.

I agree with sujeong. I personally beliveve that there is no such thing as "right love". Third person should never judge one couple's relationship as good or bad. I think i can make connection to Greek mythology we are studying currently. It is like love arrow which makes Paris to fall in love with Helena. It is very dangerous for 3rd person to get involoved in one's relationship just let them be.

I agree with you guys. The flower was made to be helpful for people. But it didn't help. The couples could be together without the flower potion in the end. Even they couldn't, it meant they were not suitable for each other. Falling out of love is a common thing. No one needs to avoid that. I can't imagine the flower potion exists in the real life. How if someone knows he/she is loving a person just because the flower potion? Won't that hurt?

It helped everyone at the end of the play though.. I like the concept of this magical potion, but I would hate it if it existed in real life. Then people with the potion would just misuse it and who knows if I start to fall in love with a donkey? We should just let love happen, instead of having control over it. I think if the potion actually existed, people would no longer value love as much as we do today.

I agree with stormy. Demetrius used to be in love with Helena but he did not love her anymore after he saw Hermia and fell in love with her. However, Hermia and Lysander already loved each other. In this play, the magical potion was meant to make Demetrius fall in love with Helena back again. But Puck messed it up because he mistook Lysander for Demetrius and gave Lysander the potion, not, as supposed to, Demetrius. Therefore, I think that the magical potion was very helpful at the end since there was a happy end for the couples. But it would be messed up if the magical potion existed in the real life. I think that the concept of real love would not exist anymore because people would start realizing that magical potions might have been used on them, and the love is not actually real love. In addition, those potions are dangerous because it could force people to become submissive and, at the worst, make slaves.

I dislike the magical potion because it messed everything up. I, who played Titania, was in love with a donkey when I already had a husband. Also, Lysander and Demetrius both loved Hermia at first but because of the potion, they fell in love with Helena. And if this existed in real life, there would be a massive chaos in the world. The potion causes a person to fall in love at first sight. Therefore, they don't really "love" the other person. The person is just under a spell to like the other person's appearance.

I think the world would be chaotic if a potion like that exists. Like in the story, it would be easy to make mistakes. Also I think it wouldn't be nice to know that the person who you thought loved you might be only loving you because of a potion. The potion would only increase doubts between couples. So overall I don't think it would be good to have a potion like that in real life in the long run.

I believe that flower potion made the whole play interesting and had a key role in the play. By the magical flower potion, the relationships of lovers were changed but at the end, it helped the lovers to love each other. However, if it really exists in our society, than there might have many fights between people to find his or her lover, because in the middle of the play, lovers fought each other to get his own love. So, it will happen similarly to our society as what happened in the play.

If the potion were to exist in real life, there would be some crazy relationships amongst couples for sure lol because the person would be in love with you because he/she is under the spell.

Well if the potion actually exist, than i would be the fairy who gave and make the potion. XD
But anyways i dont really think that exist yet but i can imagine that the possibilities on the potion only has 0.5% reality. because based on science and facts magical potion is fairy tails and not real. so i guess if magic really exists, than i would be merlin ^_^ XD.

I agree that the magical potion eventually helped three couples to be happy. However, it seemed wrong that Demetrius finally fell in love with Helena due to magical flower-it was not a real love. Making Titania fall in love with the donkey also made love seem easy and casual. In real life, which is more complicated than the play's setting, the magical flower would be disastrous. People will be misusing it, and perhaps someone will accidentally fall in love with a random person. With the flower, love will be so easy and unpredictable. Moreover, there is no Puck or Oberon in real life who may control the situation properly.

I really don't think that magic potion shouldn't exist in real life. I feel like it ruins a lot of things just like what we saw in the play. I think that it is better to leave the relationships alone to take its natural course without help of any kind. It would be really chaotic if such potions existed.

I think the concept of the magic flower potion is wrong. It's not right to control someone else's emotions and feelings. Only the individual should be able to have control over their own feelings. Also, wouldn't it be sad? You would be basically living in a something fake. You would love the other person not from your own choice but because of this substance. It wouldn't even feel nice to receive that kind love because it didn't come from the bottom of their hearts. It wouldn't be real.
