I saw people wearing black clothes and black eyeliner walking down the hallway. I had some emo kids at highschool when I was in the states, but seeing kent kids dressed up like that was really surprising.
What do you think of gothic clothings and makeup? What do you think of the people who call themselves goths?
I personally thought they were really weird to be honest! But later I got used to them and tried to understand them as well~

I meant to ask one of the kids about what they were doing, but I forgot to. I think it's a cool culture, and I appreciate their way of life. The makeup is a little scary, but I don't mind that much. I've actually met some goths and talked to them, and all of them were just normal people with a funky hairdo and getup. I respect their opinion.

I know,, and their makeup made them look scary. But people who actually do it and call themselve goths..I won't criticize them. They believe it that way so I should respect them.

I am also personally scared by their makeup and outfits. But I think their culture is somewhat interesting as well.

Eh, I think its a scene. I never liked the idea of sucoming to a hive mind mentality instead of thinking for yourself. That applies to everything, not just goths. But that being said, I always liked the nihilist philosophy that goths follow. I like their music and I like their style. But I think belonging to a group that tells youh how to think, is always a bad idea.

I guess I agree in that I also thought it was weird-looking. Gothic features are features that are not well used to our eyes and therefore, I was a bit scared when I first saw so many people at kent with the gothic look. I also started liking their music and their looks after I understood them though.

Well I've certainly did not meet any Gothic person personally but judging by their looks, man why? Why the hell would you make up your pretty face into dark color. That's weird and it tells the general society that you are in depression. Anyways, I won't criticize further and I would really love to meet one of the Goths and see what their point of view is and understand them.

since it was an assignment from drama class, i had to research about it and dress up like an gothic people for a day and act like them for a day. I really enjoyed it though. it seems like gothic people really really hate it when people call them emo. they are sort of similar but different. i think it is a little hard to define the boundary unless you are one of it.

I think gothic fasion look at life in a very intuitive way. They seem to feel that life is more about pain, and darkness.

I think that their fashion sense is horrible.....but I guess its just a difference in taste. haha I cant really hate on people who wear all black because I'm the weird girl at school who wears floral everything. But yeah, like you said, we should just accept how they like to dress because its what they like. It doesnt hurt us in any way so we should just tell them to keep it up.

The assignment was for drama class. I mean, I like wearing black but I personally didn't really like gothic clothes and makeup. But at the same time I don't think they're doing it to impress others or look pretty. It's just how they express themselves.

I think there's a lot of misconceptions when it comes to the gothic culture. It's usually associated with being anti-social and just anti-anything. Sometimes even stereotyped to be Satanists but that's not what they are at all. They just find beauty in everything whether it be dark or light.

their outfits were honestly creepy and very strange, but i think that it depended on their religion and the society they lived in and what they belieave in, They had different ways and views on what they think.
