I think thats all women do with their best friends. when they sitting together or even in the bathroom, they always try to talk about something, especially their own stuff or their precious. Nora was proud for something what her husband has achieved. And i dont think that she was being rude to mrs.Linde because a best friend would be happy if one of them is happy.

I think it's really a case by case situation. Just by looking at the conversation between Nora and Mrs Linde, we could assume that Nora was rude to talk about her children and her husband infront of a person who is a widow and has no children. However, Mrs Linde had known Nora from a long time and therefore we can guess that she already knows Nora too much to be offended by what Nora said to her.

im totally agree with hannah, she was not being rude to her old friend, she just being to honest without thinking other people's feeling. just like the other line from the beginning, she asked her husband to borrow money from the other, and when her husband asked her "what about the other people that we borrowed money from?" *i dont know exactly how the line is by the way* and then nora said she doesnt care about the other people haha. she's just too childish

I don't think she was trying to be rude but she was just excited to tell some good news to her old friend who had been in a close relationship with her. When I meet my old friend who I haven't talked for a long time, we talk about almost everything that happened in our lives in order to catch up. So, I don't think Nora was being rude in that sense. Or maybe Nora was just trying to make Mrs.Linde feel better by changing the conversation topic into a more positive one.

like we discussed in class, when yoiu have a friend that is supposedly close, you tend to tell her/him everyhting that you want. As a frnd i always feel happy when i hear good news about my frnds, in a way it makes me feel better cause i know that at least people around are happy. I think im kind of in the middle when it comes to nora being rude to mrs .linde because eventho she wasnt sad of her "misery", the way she let it all out to her was a little too abnoxious.

Yeah, from the viewpoint of a 21st modern person, it does seem quite rude and selfish to ask a friend about his/her affairs and then totally just disregarding that. However, to look at the social etiquette at the time, it would be considered not as bad as it sounds because though it looks bad, this type of stuff still happens in modern day society. A group of kids can be talking and at one point, a kid can be interrupted and the topic and the direction of attention can be completely changed, sort of similar to what happened in that scene.

I think Nora was rude to her friend, Mrs. Linde not purposely. She was treated as a child by his husband, Helmer. Treated as a child might make a person immature and do things that one should not do in his or her age. By Nora’s age, Nora should not talk about his husband instead she should cheer her to work harder and worry for him. Therefore, I think it was a rude behavior but not to Nora.

I think it is true that Nora was being rude. Although it is true that Nora might be happy about her husband being successful, she has to think in other people's shoes. Christina's husband died so it is better not to talk about anything that will remind her of her husband. Nora should have given more thought before talking about her husband.

I think Nora was being rude - she did not intend it, but to me, being insensitive and not thinking before talking is being rude. I agree that Mrs. Linde might be happy to hear that her friend is living happily, but Nora could talk it down to some degree. I am not saying that Nora should not have talked about her situation at all...she could have just mentioned her happy news briefly and listened to her friend's problems more. I also think Nora's question about Mrs. Linde loving her husband was obtrusive...it seemed like she was broaching on sensitive subject with a widow.

It would have been rude if Nora and Mrs Linde were not very best friend. But I think that it was okay for Nora to interrupt Mrs Linde even though it came out very sudden. Nora thought, since they were and are very best friends, she was allowed to do that. And I think that she knows that Mrs Linde became a widow three years ago. Even Mrs Linde seemed to be okay with it. In fact, she even expected that to happen from her face expression. If it has been recent, like some months ago, Nora would have taken care of Mrs Linde more and she would not have interrupted Mrs Linde like that.

I think that she wasn't being rude. Maybe a little insensitive, but not rude. We talked about this in our class about how Ms. Linde may have actually appreciated the fact that at least one of the two was doing well. This might have been a clue in to how close the two were.

I think Nora was not trying to be rude but the rude behavior came out due to her childish personality. She doesn't know when the line has been crossed, what is right or wrong. Nora is just selfish and brags like a child. When a child sees a jar of cookies, she wants it all for herself. Also, when a child gets a new toy, she wants to show it off to her friends. So that's what Nora was doing when she chattered about her husband. She was not purposely being rude.

I guess she was just being honest? It is her nature of being immature and she did not know if she was being immature. She was talking to her best friend who she can say whatever she wants to. I think Nora was very comfortable with MS. Lindie. I do talk about everything to my best friend hehe. I understand how Nora felt..

These things normally happen when women sit together and chit chat about their daily lives. So I would say Nora was not being 'rude', she was rather being a bit too overly attached to her emotions. She was not in control of her thoughts. She could not possibly handle the pressure she was in and Mrs. Linde, being her close friend, allowed the beans to spill.

She didn't mean to be rude, but I think she said something at the wrong time. Yeah, it's ok to share your stories to your best friends, but I don't think you should say it literally right after your good friend talks about her miserable life and how sad she is. It might make your friend think that you are showing off and bragging in front of her face. At that time, Nora was stupid, but I'm glad she grew up a bit at the end.
