In the story, Hector knows that he will die, but he continues to fight anyways. He fights for his country and family. If you were Hector, would you fight even if you knew that you were going to die? What would you do if you knew you were going to die? Do you believe in destiny, such as the destiny to die?

If I were a person from Ancient Greek culture, where destiny is so important, I would go fight for my country and family. Because I know that I will die soon, it's better to die in battle which is more glorious and honorable. Also, though I personally don't want to fight when I know I will die, I should fight for my country anyways since I know fighting for my country and family is my another fate.

I do not know how it would feel to go to the battle while knowing that you are going to die. I am not sure if i will be brave enough to take my fate and fight for my country. I think hector has very brave characteristic that he deserves to be respected by his people. I will do my best to fight for my country and defend my country even though i am going to die. I mean if i am going to die anyway, i will kill enemies as many as i can.

I don't believe in destiny now, but if I was born at that time I am sure I would have. Assuming that I believe in destiny, I would have fought even if I knew that I was going to die. I would have fought because I would have thought that there was no way to go against destiny. If I might as well die I would have wanted to do it for my country and family.

Well, if i were Hector, of course i will fight for my country even though i know i am going to die. Everyone is relying on Hector to defend their city from Greeks. I would, of course, feel fear since i know that death is near. However, it would be nice to die and be remembered forever. I do not believe in destiny, i think life is what to make. It would suck if everyone has destiny, beacuse that means no matter how hard they try to become something, they will ended up being what they are suppose to be.

I don't believe in destiny but if I was put in that situation, I would have had to fight because a single death is better than my whole country getting destroyed and dying out. I would have been afraid to die because I hate enduring pain but other than that, it would have been okay. Furthermore, Hector had the responsibility of protecting his country because he was the greatest warrior in Troy and he was a Trojan prince. So he really had no choice.

I am too different than Hector. So I can't tell. Hector was an Ancient Ares, he probably will fight for his country and people. He had to. Hector had a very bad status. He knew the gods were on Achilles' side. Even if Hector ran away, Achilles will follow him wherever for revenge. In short, Hector was doomed to be killed. Dying in a battle was better than dying in an alley where Achilles will catch him.

If I was in the situation of believing in destiny, I would have probably gone to fight even though I knew that I would die. Unlike Hector, I'm easily frightened and I am not a patriot. To me, my life is more import than my country. ahhaah:) So I guess it depends on the situation and what I believe in.

if i were him, i would have prayed and follow what I would have to do. If i would have to go and fight, I would and die. it would be better to find some way to change my destiny and fight without dying and so i can happily live after with my wife and family

If I was Hector and believed in destiny, I would have fought in the battle and died with honor. Most of Hector's brothers were killed in the battle and Hector was honored as a hero. Thus, it would have been seen as a shame during that time if all of my brothers died in the battle but I was the only one who survived because I avoided fighting the battle.

Most people responded that they will fight even if they knew they would die. I also agree. I would fight mostly because I would have to protect my father's country. Moreover, I would want to protect my family. Nonetheless, I would still be scared because once you die, there is no turning back. I think Hector, although he is not real, is a very courageous person.

I would still fight, but I would be really scared. Who wouldn't be if you knew that you were going to die? But since I know that I'm going to end up dying no matter how much I try not to, I'd just give up and do whatever I have to do before I die. I should at least try to make the end of my life as meaningful as possible. But I think I would do the same thing as Hector before I go out to fight. I would try to run away from my destiny as much as possible until it's inevitable.

I think it also depends on whether or not I am Hector as someone that is of Ancient Greek culture, or the guy I am now. As one from Ancient Greek culture, I would probably believe in the unstoppable nature of fate, because it is a theme in so many stories that I think that I will have picked up. So, I think in this situation, I would stand and fight despite death. But, if I was a person of the culture I am today, I think I would take my family and run. I would try and escape fate, because I do not believe that fate is set in stone.

I would have fought anyway even if I knew I am going to die. At that time, people believed in destiny, and I would not try to stop my destiny. I also think it would be better to die honorably according to fate than to die miserably after trying to escape destiny. In addition, I would want to see my friends and family before I die. Personally, I do not believe in destiny - life would be meaningless if my future is already determined, and there would be no point in working hard. I believe one's destiny is formed by oneself. I guess people who worked harder would probably have happier future.

If it was in fact his destiny, then he would've died even if he didn't go to battle. Maybe he knew that so he figured that he'd rather die a noble death in the battlefield instead of at home like a coward. I think that's how destiny works, right? You can't avoid it.
