So i feel like Hero vs Anti Hero is going to be an pretty important theme throughout Hamlet. As we saw on the video today, many people call Hamlet "Anti Hero" because he kills too many people. Do you agree with this?
Whats your definition of Hero and Anti Hero? Any examples from other movies or books?

We see many of so-called heros kill many people in order to save their country, family, friend, wife or husband, etc. And after winning against all the evil things, they become a hero and praised. So I think this concept of 'hero vs anti hero' is kinda contradictory; generally, I believe murder is wrong, yet I support those heros to kill evil characters and win. My definition of hero is someone who does something dangerous, knows it's dangerous, but still goes for it to save someone/something. Recently, I watched a movie about firefighters' lives, and I thought they are good example of a hero according to my definition.

In common terms, Heroes are those people described in comic books and cartoons, people who have super powers and save people in trouble. They are also people who go through epic experiences and have extraordinary abilities. My definition of heroes are people who are willing to risk what they have to help others who are in need. They are also people who set good role models for others and lead people into doing what is right. Anti heroes are those who have extraordinary powers like heroes, but do things that go against social moral values. Anti heroes can kill with no remorse, and commit crimes and other forms of wrong violence to save people. There is a movie called Watchmen, where people who are really strong and fast save people, but also kill who they want and do what they want.

I think there would need to be a hero for an anti-hero to exist. I feel like Hamlet has nothing to do with heroism. Yeah, I killed a lot of people but he wasn't trying to be against anybody. I don't think he was trying to prove anything as a hero or anti hero.

My definition of a hero is someone who is moral, puts others before themselves, and has great courage. On the other hand, I believe an anti hero is someone who is destructive, hateful, and unforgiving. Therefore, according to my definitions, Hamlet is an anti hero who does not forgive his enemies and just seeks revenge. Furthermore, in "The Avengers," superheros such as Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America work together to save the Earth and its people from getting taken over by Loki. These heros risked their life for the safety of others. This is true heroism, being selfless.

I think what defines a hero is their courage and willingness to help and save others by sacrificing themselves not expecting anything in return. In my opinion, anti hero means someone who always tries to solve anything by violence. Umm, I cannot think of any hero right now but as a real life example, firefighters are the ones I can call heroes. They risk their lives to save people in danger.

To become a hero, one must be moral and can sacrifice oneself for others and get accepted by the majorities in our society. However, one who is anti hero sacrifices oneself for others but is not accepted by the society, which means that one is not doing the right thing. Since Hamlet is called Anti Hero by many people, he is an anti hero; heroes are not called anti hero by most of the people. For example like beginning of how Hancock was criticized by the society. So, for my definition, hero is one who can sacrifice oneself for others and get praised by the society.

I think heroes are people who stick to their own beliefs and carry them out in action. The readers can't judge whether those beliefs/values are good or bad. But if the characters cling on to their values and show consistency in their thoughts and actions, I think that's enough to make them a hero. Hamlet might have killed a lot of people, but at least he accomplished what he always wanted to accomplish.

I think there is a need to have Hero and Anti-Hero people. But in Hamlet's case, he is .... kind of in between a Hero and an Anti-Hero or maybe he is not either one of them. Because he saw his dad in spirit form. And i think because he kind of listen to what his dead father is trying to tell him that makes him neither hero nor anti-hero.

Well I guess I could say Hamlet is anti hero... If he is, than everyone should be supporting him and if its intensive case, there might be people killing others for their revenge throughout the society. Since this is not happening, He is not even part of hero. I don't think he deserve it.

I think a hero is someone who uses their power for good means. An example could be characters like superman, batman, and spiderman. An anti-hero is someone who may have good intentions, but misuses their power and hurts other people. An example could be the Joker. The joker has his own beliefs, however he hurts many people along the way.

Hamlet in my opinion can not be called a anti hero because he is not Agaisnt any heroic action. He did this be cause for himself. And this act might be considred as heroic for him . Anti hero is when a person rejects or oppose with the heroic action such as destroying a city p. hero is trying to stop anti hero or try to prevent any bad things from happening

I feel as though the theme of hero vs Anti-hero doesn't necessary relate with the tragedy of Hamlet. His sole motive in carrying out his plan is for vengeance on his father's behalf. It is neither for the purpose of saving people nor for other heroic purposes. As far as I'm concerned, Hamlet is driven by the message from the Ghost spirit and by his insanity at the end to kill that many people. So, I don't think that he is a hero or a anti-hero.

I've never thought of Hamlet as any type of a hero or anti-hero. I mean, he seeks revenge, in regards to his father, and kills many people.

A hero would be someone, who has bravery and courage to help others, who are in trouble, even though he or she knows that it would be dangerous. This would apply to many protagonists from cartoons or comics, such as Superman, Batman, etc. Anti-hero would be someone, who is in the center of the story, like a protagonist, but is immoral and acts out of selfish reasons. Hamlet would belong to this category because he is longing to revenge for his father, not to help other people, but to ease his own mind of anger. Also in the movie of Hancock, Boa Hancock could be regarded as an anti-hero in the beginning because although he tries to help people, he harms other people and is seen as immoral by others.
