If i were to derive my opinions and thoughts from the debate we are currently
doing in class, I would say that Claudius kept Hamlet in his arms more because of pity.
Claudius, obviously must find guilt after killing his own brother. Therefore, to save himself
the torment, he probably kept Hamlet alive. Another reason he probably kept Hamlet is because
his mother would not be happy if the new king were to banish his wife's son.
