i think its a common thing for a ghost to ask a help to make things right. we cant just simply say that the king is a cruel dad to put his son to through all things just to make him rest peacefully. but it's also about justice and his wife. lets say that there is no ghost, i'm sure that hamlet will still accused his uncle for his father's death. what kind of son that will let his mom to married with other guy just after the father's death? more than that, the people of Denmark need certainty about the problem that royal family facing at that time

I guess it differes for people i mean for his son old hamlet was a father but also he is a man. A normal man beyond being his son he also wants to achieve something because he is a man. And i agree with it that he wants Claudius to be dead because he is so mad about getting killed and i mean in the other side i agree with that he shouldn't have make his son into this situation because it will make more issues. But what i want to say is that both are right.

I do not think Hamlet's father would want Hamlet to revenge for him. If i were the dead king, i want my son to live happily ever after. I agree with Franchesca's point that I wouldn't want my son to be remembered as someone who killed many innocent people. I can make connections to Game of Thrones which also takes place in medieval era. Characters are a lot like Hamlet. They live for revenge of their family and country.

Hamlet, in my opinion, is an immature kid who is introduced into the adult world. With little notice he is pushed out of his pool and enters the harsh world of hierarchy and power. The young prince is obviously is not only confused, but he is also mired in a deep shock. As a responsible father, I would not have Hamlet have blood on his hands and I would rather want him to move on with his life.

As to think that I am a father, I would not want my son to murder anyone. Even though it was to take revenge on myself. But to think that I were a son, I would really want to revenge on my Dad.

I agree with Koo here. Its more like the Game of Thrones where everyone lives up to revenge because that's the whole point back in the middle ages. Well, If I were the dead king, I wouldn't put my son into this circumstances where he would risk his life to avenge me. I know that he would obey me, respect me but I would let him lead his life with joy and peace.

It a reason i would probably do because cladious took basically everything . Like the queen(wife) and killed hom to take place on the royal seat. I would tell my son about what happened but probably not kill it is up to gamelt to do what he thonks is right

I think this is why I feel like the ghost is a figment of Hamlet's imagination. A father is just cruel for making his son seek revenge for his own death. But, Hamlet's imagination producing this figure fits, because his descent into madness may cause a physical representation in his mind of his lust for revenge.

I agree with you! Even if i was murdered, I wouldnt want my child.to live knowing who murdered me, unless the person who murdered me was someone not related to him because if my brother was to hve murdered me, iwouldnt want my son to feel uncomfortable adound his uncle or feel angry or revengful because he does have to see him every day. zi know that its stupid and more wrong to have my son living without knowledge that his own uncle killed his mom but, i think it would be for the better that he doesnt find out until he is ready.

I agree with you... Even if I want to revenge the opponent, I wouldn't ask my children to do it for me. I would actually tell them not to make enemy and if they start first, try to find other way to revenge rather than committing crime

If I was Hamlet's father, I wouldn't want my son to take any of the revenge my own death. As a parent, I wouldnt want my child go through pain because of me. I would actually wish to hide the secret behind my death if it was the way i can reduce my son's pain. However, maybe we have to consider that back then culture and society was a lot more different then today. so it might be common things to do. Like tell your own son to do something for you.
