Connections to themes in Hamlet

Recently, I watched a movie called "The Hunt". It was a foreign movie about a man who is falsely accused of sexually harassing a little girl and gets attacked and harassed by everyone in his village. Even his best friends ostracize him and attack him, and his teenage son gets angry and confronts the attackers. The son ends up being beaten up.

I thought that this was similar to Hamlet because, like Hamlet, the teenage son goes to revenge his dad and gets hurt as a consequence. The only difference is that the main character in the movie doesn't want his son doing anything so he doesn't get hurt, but King Hamlet tells his own son to revenge him.

That was my connection to the play. Do you guys have any connections you can make to the play?

Theres this spanish drama i used to watch and in it there was a teengae guy who went looking for the guy who killed his father and avenge him. Once he found him what he did instead of finding revenge with this guy he tries to do it with his daugher who he ends up falling in love with. Anyways That was something i could connect.

i watched the move "The Hunt" with joon also,
theme that i could pick out is imagenry. what hamlet is seeing might be all wrong. like seeing the ghost and ghost saying that his uncle killed his father and he might be a psycho, nobody knows if is true or not.
same thing happened in the Hunt, the man who was charged for raping the little girl might actually did it,

The main theme in Hamlet is "uncertainty." This closely connects with the Edgar Allen Poe's stories and other stories we learned in class such as "The Raven," "The Masque of the Red Death," and creation myths. In "the Raven", the speaker does not know if the Raven is on his side or not. He wonders if he can get over with the mounring. "The Masque of the Red Death" keeps the theme of uncertainty on moving through the seven rooms.

There's so many themes from Hamlet that can be connected to so many different novels and works. It can be connected to the book Count of Monte Cristo since both of these books are based mainly on the theme of revenge. Hamlet has many other themes like insanity, love, hero, uncertainty so it's pretty easy to see the connection between Hamlet and other works.

I saw a drama about a dad who tries to revenge his daughter's murder. Regardless of dangerous situations, the dad does everything to get revenge. This is similar to Hamlet in that both main characters try to revenge the death of somebody. However, it is also different because in the drama, the dad tries to revenge his daughter's death, while in Hamlet, it is the son who looks for revenge.

I saw this drama where his father has married his aunt and it was shocking. They were family members and even all the family got into shock but they ran away. They left everything behind and left by themselves. It is quite shocking as hamlet.

There's a TV drama that I watched during the summer. I think it's called Revenge or something like that. The entire thing was just about how a daughter of a murdered father was trying to take revenge against the people who were responsible for his death. It takes her almost 10 years to plan it and she nearly gives up her whole life to this revenge. This is a bit different from Hamlet's story because just like how the main character in "The Hunt" didn't want his son to live like that, the father in "Revenge" also told her not to make his death and her revenge plans take control of her life.

Those are some really cool connections you made there.. My connection to Hamlet is Lion King. Apparently, one of my friends told me that it was based on the story of Hamlet, so there's obviously a lot of connections between Lion King and Hamlet. Like the story of Hamlet, the protagonist's father (king) dies and his younger brother takes over. Also, there is the ghost or the spirit of the dead father in both of the literatures, as both of the dead father's appear to Hamlet and Simba.

I forgot the drama’s name but it was about a conflict between a married couple and the other women who tried to make the man to marry her. While, the women tried to get the man, she hurt the man’s wife and took the man back. However, when everyone thought that the wife died, the wife came and revenged the women very badly. So, I thought I could connect the theme of revenge for Hamlet.

There is a Korean drama called "7th Grade Civil Service" and a guy tries to get revenge on his dad's colleagues because he died due to their betrayal. His dad was kind of like a CIA agent. But after he kills one of his dad's colleagues, he dies too. This is just like Hamlet because Hamlet also dies while taking revenge on Claudius.

I'm reading this book "a stolen life." It's about a girl who was kidnapped when she was eleven, and was kept by a pedophile for eighteen years. The book is really terrible.. I might just stop reading it. Anyways, she says the most frightening thing about her experience was that she didn't even know where she was. The woman was unsure if the pedophile was actually in love with her, because she ended up having two baby daughters with him. She was uncertain of her situations, and going to sleep was horrific. The theme of uncertainty and how it terrifies people can be connected to real life stories as well.

The Hunt was a really good movie. That's a really good connection. Another connection I can think of is the connection with the movie we watched in the Ms. Boyd's homeroom, Tucker and Dale vs. Evil. This story is similar because the high school kids seem to be killed by Tucker and Dale, and in order to avenge them, they try to attack the two hillbillies. Also, Chad's motive to get revenge for his parents by killing the hillbillies is also similar. The killing doesn't solve anything, but its similar nonetheless.

I think that another point need to be made about the connection to Tucker and Dale vs. Evil is that there is this theme of uncertainty throughout the whole movie as the college students decide their plan to kill the Hillbillies. Usually, they are unsure of what happened and they get mutiple misconceptions. Because, they aren't sure of what actually happened, it's inevitable that there are many themes of uncertainty in the movie.

There is this new Korean TV show that I'm watching which is called "The Winter...?" something. The movie is about a girl from a millionaire family who was separated from her brother and mother since her parents got divorced. The girl lived with her father, who was a CEO of a huge corporation, but since her father's death, she has been living with her housekeeper. The whole TV show and the girl sort of imply that the housekeeper murdered her father but no one is 100% sure if she did so. I thought this was very similar to how Hamlet was portraying Claudius; like the housekeeper, Claudius seems like he has killed the formal king but there's no real clue that he did so.
