I know that this has nothing to do with Hamlet, but as it's something that obviously affects our lives a lot, I thought it'd be worth discussing it. As a lot of you know, Kim Jong Un just declared the Korean Armistice to be invalid, which puts us in a very awkward situation because technically we're at war again. security.blogs.cnn.com/2013/03/07/is-kim-jong-un-more-dangerous-than-his-father/?iid=article_sidebarThis is an article that has an interesting question as its title. Do you think Kim Jong Un is more dangerous than his father, Kim Jong Il? I would say he is. He's taking more dramatic measures than those that his father took, and it's getting a little out of control. He might be just doing it so that he can scare people off and get what he wants, and it's apparently working.

I honestly don't really know about political issues, but when I heard about their recent provocation, I thought of this phrase "ignorance is bold." I think Kim Jong Eun is just ignorant of what their reality is, and I believe that he doesn't even have such guts to actually wage a war against South Korea, and thus the United States. I guess he's trying to grab attention. But like this article says, he's ignorant, thus bold, and unpredictable, thus dangerous.

As the article said, Kim Jong Un might be more dangerous than his father, since he allowed nuclear-test and many other dangerous measures, which would have been unlikely, if his father was still alive. As Sujeong said, he might be ignorant of the reality, the world, and the consequences of his action, and does not really have a plan how to deal with the current situation. Sometimes, it makes think that Kim Jong Un is just doing all these because he recently became dictator and experiments with his power. Or another reason might be that he is just a puppet controlled by the other politicians. Throughout the history, controlling a dictator or a monarch happened a lot, so I think it might be possible.

Yes, I would also agree that Kim Jong Un is more dangerous than his father, Kim Jong Il. A nuclear attack could kill millions of people. And threatening stong, first world countries like the United States and South Korea seems very bold. Whether North Korea really has a nuclear weapon or not, Kim Jong Un is doing this to gain attention and get what he wants such as money and food supplies. I don't think he would actually attack America and South Korea because he knows there will be severe consequences if he messes with other countries.

I also agree that Kim Jong Un is more dangerous than his dad and it definitely is working. I also agree that he is just being extreme to get things his way.

I freaked out when I heard the threats but then I also heard from a lot of people that North Korea makes a threat like every other year but doesn't realyl do anything. They always say stuff like "we'll cover them in a sea of fire" and then nothing happens. I don't think civilians really have anything to worry about. It's the soldiers that have to fight the small battles that end up dying for no reason.

I think that Kim Jong Un is more dangerous than his dad too. North Korea used to always make threats but they never declared the Korean Armistice to be invalid. Everyone is saying that this time it feels different. But I hope he is just words and there are a lot of people that are saying that North Korea doesn't have enough supplies to go to war with South Korea and North Korea so I hope that is true.

Oh yea he's more dangerous than his father. I say he's more dangerous than he's father because he is young, i didnt mean he's young and he's strong, he's young and i think his mentality is not ready for this. He is just a little kid who was born yesterday. He know the consequences for starting the war, but he has that "i dont care" and "screw this" attitude, just like another teenager has.

From the past few years North korea has been continuously causing a treat to us. I rememeber their missile attacks on one of our islands and the sinking of one of our ship left a mystery last year. However, I think it's kind of different this time because they have never delcared the Korean Armistice to be invalid. I agree that he is more dangerous than his father but I hope that their purpose of this declaration was the political fights among the North Korean governments.

I agree with everyone that he is much more dangerous and very unexpected person. Because as alam said he is young and young people are always arrogance and in his case or position self-centered thinking that since his father was the dictator of north korea than he is also the same. Which he will rule according to his satisfaction.

I also think that Kim Jung Un may be more dangerous than Kim Jung Il generally. Obviously, Kim Jung Un is much younger than Kim Jung Il and because of this, he may have better knowledge and idea of how he can control North Korea. Not only that but since Kim Jung Il has died and may not have achieved all the things he desired to have done, Kim Jung Un may act more powerfully in order to fulfill his dad's satisfactions.

I also agree with you. I think he is far more dangerous than his father. First of all, he has been taking all those risks that his father would have probably avoided. What's more important is that he is sill young. He is not even thirty yet; quite unbelievable how he is younger than all of our teachers in Kent. So my point is that, the fact that he is doing all this at that age is terrifying because it means that there is a high chance of him doing something worse.

Yeah I also think Kim Jung Un is more dangerous than his father. He his following his father's footprints so it is similar but he does things faster. As some mentioned above he is still young. Although he had an older brother Kim Jung Il chose Kim Jung Un instead. There would be a reason and that reason scares me.. He is unpredictable. Hopefully there wouldn't be a war.

I definitely think that Kim Jong Un is more dangerous than his father. Kim Jong Ill may have had an absolute dictatorship and built nuclear weapons, but he never did stuff like his son has like calling off the armstice. Kim Jong Un has made more aggressive actions towards us than his father. He has been successful in scaring people to get respect or whatever he wants.

i really am sared of him he is very self cenetered, selfish and has no feelings for people. he grew up with bad surroundings and he has wrong informatios in his dead he thought in a wrong way as he grew up. he thinks he is powerful when he attacks us and kill people us and nkorea should find a way to stop them.
