I agree that boys and girls are different because of what society tells them. Everyone currently thinks that boys and girls are different. Therefore, they tell boys and girls different things without thinking twice. For example, parents always buy girls dolls and they robots for boys. This actually tells kids what they are supposed to do. For these reasons, I think society affects boy's and girl's behaviors.

In response to Hannah, the boy may be physically and biologically male but sex and gender are different things. Your sex can be female but you can identify as male. So if he identifies as male, then he will have the natural urge to act in ways that are socially considered male.

I don't think there's anything wrong about being different. If we weren't supposed to be different, then wouldn't we all be the same gender? What's the point in having two genders if both genders are going to have the exact same qualities? Of course there's a lot of generalization going on, and it's true that we make stereotypical judgments against both genders. But I don't think the issue is whether we're different or not. It's more on why we equate being different with being inferior/unequal because that's where all that sexist stuff comes from. Yeah, that's precisely what I mean. There's nothing wrong with being conventionally masculine or feminine. There's nothing wrong with distinguishing between genders. The problem arises when certain attributes of a gender become inherently inferior. So, yeah, I completely agree with you. |

This whole girl vs boy debate was doing one for ages and no one has come up to the write answer yet. I think its different for all people. Everyone has different views on this whole subject of ''gender''. I think that just because you were born as a girl wont necessary mean that you have to be girly and play with doll house all the time. Also, just becuase you were born as a boy, you dont always have to strong and manly or liking sport and something prior to that.
