I think the main reason was because of his Christian background. But, like you said he was probably scared to commit suicide as well. I think that to kill yourself you really have to have guts and be brave. Everyone loves their own life to some extent no matter how much they might think they don't like it. I think it's natural to be afraid to kill yourself even if you are going through so much hardships like Hamlet is.

Well we know from the first soliloquy that you mentioned that he didn't commit suicide because he thought it would be blasphemous, or simply against his religion. Though he said it, we have many underlying reasons to not believe his statement, as you mentioned the factor of being a teenager. I also think that fear like you mentioned, played a role in this as well.

Since he was a teenager, his thoughts are childish mind and because of this, he prefer to revenge rather than let it go.Children have mindset that they have to do things they want unless their parents control that. Because his mother knows that Hamlet is in pain for losing his father, his mother didn't control that emotion. This lead to everyone's tragedy.

First he thinks about committing suicide as we can see from those two monologue and he did actuallly decide to commit suicide however later on he questions himself about death. And that leads him of not killing himself

I think Hamlet did not commit suicide for the reasons that he wanted to find out who killed his dad and make a revenge. also, wasn't hamlet, christian? in christianity, commiting suicide is illegal, so I think that might be the reason why he did not suicide.

Its obvious that committing suicide is like buying a one way ticket to hell because its a major sin in his religion. And then who is going to avenge his father's death. In order to fulfill his father's wish, he decided to stay back and fight.

I think Hamlet did not commit suicide because he wanted to kill Claudius before he die. He got this mission from the ghost to take revenge on Claudius for King Hamlet's death. So, he believed that the ghost was his father and wanted to carry out his father's wish.

I honestly thought that hamlet was a wimp and he did not have the guts to even cut himself. I mean honestly, lets face it, hamlet is a spoiled rotten teenager who happens to think he is one of the big dogs. At first, I did not even think that Hamlet would be able to even lay a finger on Claudius.

The reason why Hamlet didnt end up his life by committing suicide was that Hamlet is a christian and it is illegal to commit suicide. Thats not it, Hamlet is afraid of the unknown which is the afterlife. Hamlet doesnt know whats going to happen after he kill himself

I think he didn't commit suicide for a couple reasons. First and foremost, I think he just was plain old scared, and he was too scared of what death entailed. He also wanted to act in accordance with his Christian faith. I feel like he also wanted to carry out revenge.

In the play, he said it himself that his religion prevents him to cpmmit suicide. I believe that that was one of the mainr easons Hamlet didnt commit suicide. Another reason is because he felt that he was too young to die. I think he felt like he has stuff to acccomplish in his life and i think he felt too wasteful for him to just give up his life like that.

I think there were many reasons why Hamlet did not kill himself. In the first place, he often wondered what happens after the death. This made me feel that Hamlet is actually scared to die even if he is so miserable. Hamlet also has his duty of revenge given by the ghost of his father. If he kills himself, that would be failing his father's wish. He also seems too angry at his mother and Claudius to give up taking the revenge. There is no one who knows the truth if he dies alone.

Maybe he sought revenge so much that he put his suicide on hold. His contempt and hatred for Claudius was so strong that it almost seem like a passion; a passion for hating someone. Maybe he wanted to carry out his revenge and if he survived through that, he would've committed suicide. I don't know for sure and like you said fear is another huge factor, but I think that there are many factors that explains this as well.

I think the main reason why he didn't commit suicide is revenge for his father's death and his religious beliefs. The fact that he was instructed to go kill King Claudius was very important to him that it overthrew his eager to kill himself. Also, Hamlet, especially during that time period, must have been a devout Christian so committing suicide would not be something that he could choose to do easily.
