We all read the story "Federigo's Falcon" in class. And I felt bad for both Federigo and Monna when the falcon was killed and served as a meal. However, it worked out anyways, since Monna finally saw the change in Federigo and his courtliness. So they ended up getting married.
But if I were Monna, I feel like I would look at Federigo's sacrifice not only as a courtly action but a foolish one also. The falcon was the only possession he had, but he had to kill it for the woman he loved. Federigo would be miserable without it for the rest of his life. I think Federigo was in such panic that he didn't know what he was doing at that time. I mean.. what if Monna just left him like that? He would be so lonely and angry at himself for killing the one thing he had in life.
Yessss.. so! If you were Monna, would you be impressed with Federigo's sacrifice, or would you see it as another foolish mistake?

obviously i would see that as a foolish mistake. without pondering about any consequence or disadvantage of absence of his falcon, federigo just cooked the falcon without hesitation. yea he sacrificed it for his love but that was not smart. what if monna just left him forever after eating the falcon? federigo might regret. if i were monna i would not marry a foolish person like federigo.

If I were Monna, I would feel the both feelings. As I felt really impressed by his devoted and sacrificial love for me, I might start considering out marriage life after. I believe a marriage cannot stand still with just love. Because Federigo just gave me all he has and now he has literally nothing, I might not want to just leave myself to him for the rest of my life.

I agree in that Federigo made such a stupid decision to serve his falcon as the meal. I mean, we all knew the fact that he loved Monna so much but we also knew that Monna didnt love him in the beginning. Although everything turned out right and they got married, what if the ending was to be different? What if Monna just left him ? What then would have been the purpose for serving his only possession as a meal to Monna?

I don't think Federigo would have regretted the fact that he sacrificed his falcon because he probably thought it was worth it. If I were Monna, I would recognize that fact and I would be really impressed by it.

I understand that fact that he loves Monna and he thinks that she's the woman of his life I just think that his actios were to stupid kill the only friend that he had just because of Monna.

I would be impressed by Federigo because he was still sacrificing his one and only possession. I've seen a lot of men who wouldn't do that just for a girl he loves but Federigo literally sacrificed everything for her. If I were Monna, I would be so moved and impressed by him that I would start loving him back because such love is very rare.

If I was Monna, I would be impressed with Federigo's sacrifice because it revealed his true love for me. I don't think killing the falcon was foolish because he tried his best to grab Monna's attention and gain her love. He wasn't afraid to lose everything for her. Plus, because of his sacrificial actions, I would be able to trust and rely on Federigo after marriage.

If I was Monna I think I would feel both of those feelings. I would be impressed with Federigo's sacrifice but also think that it is foolish in a way. I would also wonder what he would do without me now that he has nothing left.

I'd feel impressed and guilty at the same time. I mean like you said Stormy, it is quite foolish, and in my opinion, I think it's too much to do for one person that isn't interested in that person. So in guilt, I think that I'd be very nervous and at the same time, very impressed.

If I was Monna, I would see Federigo’s sacrifice as another foolish mistake. He made his love overcome his only possession falcon. He was just looking forward about how to make Monna in good mood and didn’t think about his only friend. He just cooked falcon for Monna. Also this action could make Monna to think him as stupid and just do not have any feelings toward Fedrigo but he is lucky that she looked at his courtliness.

If I was Monna, I would have been really impressed by Federigo's sacrifice. I wonder what kind of girls would resist Federigo since he sacrificed the only possession he had in the world for the woman he love. I don't think Federigo would ever regret serving his falcon as a meal to Monna because he would give anything and everything to her. I think he would have been satisfied to just see Monna happily eating his falcon.

i felt very sad for Fedrigo and his falcon. THe falcon has been next to him ever since, being like his only companion around him. and when suddenly Monna came, Fedrigo gave up his best friend the Falcon to be serve as food. I personally think that Fedrigo was too obsessed about his love towards monna

I think I would view Federigo's action foolish and view it so negatively if I did not like him so much. Otherwise, I think I would be really impressed by his devoted action and make new, better opinion of him. Many people would say his action was foolish, but Monna, the potential lover, would feel happy that the person is willing to sacrifice anything for love. Through this, Federigo proved that he is materialistic and sincerely loves Monna.
