Monnna knows that his falcon is his only one. You have to sacrifice something to achieve your dream. Monna was Federigo's dream girl and he would do anything to get her, well I think love makes him blind. His falcon was the only possession he had and he had to kill it for the one he loved, and I think his life wouldn't be miserable because he has the one who will make the highlight of his life. Monna was so touched for what he did to her and of course if I was him, I would do anything as a return.

Maybe Federigo's action was a foolish one, but I would still be touched by his sacrifice. And I don't think that he cooked his falcon to win her love, but he did it because he wanted to do something for her out of the goodness of his heart. He wasn't expecting anything back when he killed his best friend for dinner, and I think that just shows his love for her. Creepy, yes, but still the guy had no bad or creepy intentions.

I think that I would have mixed feelings about this. First I would be very impressed and touched that he was willing to go this far for me to take the risk and make this sacrifice but at the same time, I would think that this guy does some foolish things without thinking carefully. What if Monna has rejected him at the end? So but if I was Monna, I would have considered to marry him afterwards maybe.

It seems like a foolish act, but to Federigo, Mona was the first priority. If Federigo had more possessions other than his falcon, obviously he would have given her other things, but his falcon was his only possession so there wasn't any other choice for him to make on serving her other than sacrificing his falcon. To me, I don't think it was foolish because his action shows how much he appreciates Mona.

it would be hard for me to decide. If someone's willing to give up on everything just to get me as a reward, i know that person certainly has some true feelings for me. However, whats the guarantee that if i marry him and as life goes on, he gives up on me for sacrificing for someone even precious than me, it could be another woman or our own daughter whom life can only be saved by letting me go. usually those people who easily are willing to sacrifice are sort of really emotional or always panicking. They are not really assure of what they are doing and whom they are doing it for . Just like Federigo loved his falcon throughout his life but he killed it just to impress a woman, thats a big sacrifice.

I would probably feel both ways. I would be impressed of his sacrificing of his falcon but also considered it as a foolish action since he has nothing left with him. What if Monna left him even after his sacrifice?

If I were Monna, I wouldn't think that what Federigo did was a foolish action. I think I would be impressed. I would be kind of sad though because I couldn't save my son with that falcon. I disagree that it was a foolish action because I think when Federigo did kill the falcon and gave it to Monna, he was doing the best that he could as a lover. I think since he loved her, he wouldn't regret it because it was the best that he could do for someone he thought so highly of. I don't think Federigo would be sad for the rest of his life either. Maybe he would be sad for a while, but he would have gotten over it.

I don't think Federigo would have regretted his actions even if Monna left him. The fact that he was still in love with Monna after all the years clearly shows his love or even infatuation with Monna. He would think one good dinner with her is enough for any pain he would receive later. I think I would be really impressed with Federigo to see the extent of his love for me.

Of course I would be emotionally impressed by his sacrifice. If I were Monna, I would have done the same as the story. It's kind of obvious that most of women will be attracted by a person like Federigo. unless Monna only cared about money and... handsome face ;D
