I keep talking about Utopia...Sorry guys.. But yeah.. The author said competition is fatal to the ideal society. Today we live in a world where people are constantly fighting against each other, and see competition as part of the world.
So yeah! Do you think competition enables people to grow and challenge themselves in a positive way, or do you think it ruins the community just like Sir Thomas More? I personally think competition helps us to know where we're at and learn from our failures. And since we experienced and witnessed so many different types of competition, I feel like it should be promoted within our society.

I agree with you in that competition indirectly improves society's overall wellbeing. Competition allows people to do work in full potential in order to attain their goals and not get too hindered by the need of the community. Yes, community makes up the society but competition is also needed in order for people to compete, who is the strongest, and try to correct and improve their mistakes. Without competition, mistakes and failures might not have been corrected and the society would not progress.

I think that competition does help people grow and challenge themselves in a positive way. Competition makes us try harder. When we make mistakes, competition also drives us to find the solution and make things right in order to come out on top. Competition also gives people hope of success. Competition is also key to a lot of concepts in our world. For example, capitalism and the free market are driven by competition. Often, competition allocates resources effectively on its own, that the government doesn't have to do anything and may even adopt a policy of lassiez faire.

I think competition is what makes me want to try harder. When i feel like i am behind someone, it stimulates energy in my body. I want to live competitive until 50 to become successful. After i earn a lot of money and build my family i want to have chill life. I do feel bad for people who give up their lives because they could not stand harsh competition on their jobs, lives or etc. However, without competition, society will not develop.

I think competition does indeed make us work harder. If there is no competition, we won't try our best to achieve something. Also, competition allows us to stay focused and make sure we are spending our time wisely. However, I think if it gets too intense, it ruins the society. If you look at those Korean students, it's ridiculous how much time they spend on studying just because of that fierce competition they need go through.

I think competition is needed in society and just life in general. We wouldn't reach our full potential if there was no competition. Competition serves as an incentive to us to become better.

I think competition is a good thing. It helps people become better than they are right now. It makes them try harder at everything that they do so they can be the best. I think wanting to be the best is one of human instincts so competition will always exist.

I would go against Sir Thomas's ideas, I would rather promote competition. As an economic student, competition is really a good thing. It helps bring the society new form of technology. It motivates competitors to move forward and go on top.
