While discussing about Genesis, we learned that Eve tempted Adam to eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. And I gave an example of women "tempting" men with the incidents of rape. When men were asked why they raped that person, their reason was that the woman tempted them with her revealing clothes.
What kind of reasoning is that? There is something called looking away. I think men really need to control their selves. On the other hand, women should think before they wear or buy revealing clothes. What do you think? Are women seducers? Are there other examples of women tempting men?

Wow... this post is so unique and different from the others... its such a hard question. Gina, ill give it to you, you have caught me in the dead center of a corner with this question... I think it is mostly the men's fault for this one. I know as a guy that men have not fully evolved yet... psychologically... well at least for me. Guys tend not to think as much as women when thinking about their actions, so they tend to get into much more trouble. I personally never thought women as "seducers"......

Its not that they are really tempted, most of the time its really just an excuse so make people think that the accident is the victims fault, its just legal/ethical tactics. I don't think it's anyone's fault for something like that to happen. Some humans are just naturally twisted, they don't care and feel anything for others, cold and egocentric they do what they want. This might seem a really cold thing to say but it's really just a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I think its a really lame excuse that women were tempting them. They just don't want to be convicted of rape. I'm sure there are plenty of cases where the women weren't wearing revealing clothes. I thimk a lot of times women are portrayed as the seducers like for example in the bible, joseph was seduced by his boss's wife. I think its pretty sad that womeb are thought of this way. But I guess many women did so in the past and that's why women are portrayed that way.

Yup only women tempt just like we saw in Genesis Eve tempt Adam to disobey God, if Eve didn't tempt Adam both of Eve and Adam wouldn't eat the fruit they wouldn't be kick out of Eden.

womam tempted man. we can clearly see that eve made adam to eat a apple. no one cannot aregue with that. of course that it was adam's choice to eat or not but, he would not have thinking whether to eat or not if he was not suggested to eat a apple by eve. I do not feel unfair about the results. because also man has the punishment not only women.

I think that nowadays, there are a lot of women that wear clothes that are too exposed to wear outside. This obviously would the women's fault, but if we think about it carefully, wouldnt it be women's freedom to choose what they would like to wear? If women cannot wear clothes they would like just because they are afraid of men, wouldnt it be unfair for women?

WOW......Men who say that women are "tempters" are a bunch of #(*%!!!! I mean, yeah I agree that women can wear very slutty/revealing clothes, but it is the men who are also the ones commiting the crime. I guess this is a both sides fault scenario, but because I am a girl, Im gonna be on the girls side. I think its really stupid that women are portrayed this way. I mean, I dont get women who dress slutty anyways but if they do, they probably have a background story that follows that. Maybe they just faced a break-up with their bf and they wanted to have a girls night and look "sexy"? haha It is bad that they would choose to do that but its stupid for a guy to rape a women and say they were tempted and seduced by the woman.

Another example of women tempting men can be seen in the bible. Delilah was used to tempt Samson to find out what his weakness was.

in case of raping, yea i would like to say its not totally the women's fault. i think its just an alibi for men to say that they were 'tempting' men to rape them. haha just think about it, what kind of girl that want to get raped? well in my opinion crime occurs because theres an opportunity to do it, and also intention of the criminals. so you cant blame only one side.

It is not men's fault nor women's fault. It is women's freedom the wear whatever they want, and it is illogical to say that women's clothing style tempt men. It is very dangerous to make generalizations because not every men or women is like that. There are always dirty perverted criminals in our society who wants to rape women. Every men and women is different. Some of them are dirty, but some of them are clean.

Even though it says in Genesis that Eve made Adam eat the apple from tree of knowledge of good and evil, I think that it is wrong to use this document solely as an evidence that women are naturally born to become "seducers" or "tempt" men. Especially in the case in which women are raped by men, just because they were "tempting" them with their clothing style.

That is RIDICULOUS. That's just those rapists' stupid excuse. Whenever men, the stronger ones, use their strength to force women, the weaker ones, it is always men's responsibility. It's not because I'm a woman, but because the fact that men are stronger than women. Just because they are stronger, they shouldn't over use them on women. In Genesis, however, I obviously think Eve did tempt Adam because she was the one who told Adam to eat the apples.

I agree with all the girls. That's just a dumb excuse that guys give for committing a crime. Guys who rape women without having second thoughts are immoral enough to rape any kind of women, whether they're covering all their bodies or going around with revealing clothes. Guys who have enough sense not to do it won't. And even if women wear revealing clothes, if they say that they don't want to have a sexual relationship, then they don't want it. How much clearer can they get?

I agree that those kinds of excuse do not make sense at all-I heard that one man who raped a ten-year girl argued that she seduced him...which obviously sounds ridiculous. There are actually female seducers, but they usually have other motives, like getting some information from government people. However, whatever clothes they are wearing, if women say no, then men should listen to it. And we should not believe the story of Adam and Eve from Genesis literally-Eve is symbolized as any human being who is liable to easily make mistakes, not as a general female seducer.
