For me, it depends on the situation. If I do breathing in the morning, it makes more tired and makes me want to sleep more. However, if I have to take a big exam or hold long speeches, then I think that breathing is useful because it makes me less nervous and stressful.

Personally, breathing helps me a lot. I take English in 5th period, which is right after lunch so I sometimes find it hard to sort of focus when the class starts. However, when we breathe, it really clams me down and clear my mind that I would be ready to focus during class.

Well, for the first few times, I thought that it really worked to relax me and make me stay focused. However, as days pass with the breathing exercises everday, I find this breathing not helpful at all. First of all, my mind is too messy to be cleared out by this simple one minute exercise and most of seniors are busy these days right? they do not get enough sleep and the problem is, I fall asleep during this breathing exercise but what's worse is that after the breathing, I still feel tired and I'm not fully awake. Then in the first period class, I tend to fall asleep because of it.

I think it depends on the situation. If I go to class right after lunch or I run to school because I was about to be late, breathing would help me calm down and concentrate. However like Stormy mentioned, before tests if I do the breathing, I forget the key words I just crammed into my head. I usually put it in my head and write it immediately when I get the test paper so yeah..It really depends on the situation.

I think it does. When i am nervous or frustrate, i always take a deep breath. It helps me come down and feel a lot better with what i do. We always do the breathing in ms boyds class and it really help me as well. When i eat too much for my lunch and i feel so sleepy and stuffs, the breathing made me feel so much better and i feel like all my food went somewhere else, like all the food was digested in a second

I agree that breathing can relax our minds when we are angry or sad. It can temporarily free us from problems and fatigue. However, I do not think breathing exercise helps us do better with our studies...I guess it can help us emotionally, but I do not see how simple breathing can help us academically. In addition, breathing exercise during homeroom period does not help me much-I stressed about coming earlier to the school, and when I close my eyes for meditation, I almost fall asleep...

I think the breathing exercises help us become calm. I think this calmness helps us become more focused and help us do better in school.

I don't think breathing exercises in homeroom actually help us because everyone just closes their eyes and tries to get a couple more minutes of sleeping when we do the exercises. But when I'm mad or annoyed I try to breathe because it helps me relax and calm down from all the built up frustration.

Hahahahahhaha oh my goodness thats so true Hannah!! hahaha yeah i guess it can be used as an excuse to get some extra sleep! But I dont know! A lot of people have been saying that its not helping but teachers have been noticing a difference so maybe we dont notice the difference but they do?

I really do think it helps. I don't know the physical difference that it makes but psychologically it really calms me down. It also gives you a moment to think things through before acting impulsively.

I know we do the breathing exercises for good intentions but I feel like it doesn't help at all. Sometimes I fall asleep or my mind is always focused on other things. It doesn't clear my head I just pay more attention to the problems or stuff I have to do. It sometimes makes me more worried.
