I don't know why people might even consider Gilgamesh tobe gay. Firstly, the fact that he rejected the love of Goddess doesn't make him gay, because everyone has his preferences and the right to choose their love. Secondly, it is too hasty to say Gilgamesh loved Enkidu as more than a friend. He was simply devastiated with the death of his dear friend and wanted to take a revenge. This kind of friendship can and does exist everywhere and it is different from a real love.

I believe Gilgamesh isn't gay. "The Epic of Gilgmesh" in our English textbook doesn't give the full story because it is so long. But in the full story, it says that Gilgamesh raped any woman he wanted, even the wives of his warriors. Also, even though he rejected Ishtar, it doesn't mean he's gay. I have rejected guys before. Does that make me a lesbian? I don't think so. In life, a person doesn't always like another person back. Last but not least, Enkidu and Gilgamesh were just friends. There is nothing weird about weeping for a friend who passed away.
