In Popol vuh, It said how animals are said to be killed and eaten by the guardians of the Earth. we came up with the thing that humans are not killing the animals even though we all eat animals. So, do you think that we are not killing animals just because we don't actually kill, but eat them? Even though we are not actually killng the animals, I think we still are killing them because individuals are still eating the animals.

Your post costed a bit long time to understand for me. Yes, I think we don't kill them. We eat them. It's reasonable. We don't go either hunting or killing them. Every time we eat them, they are already dead. So we don't evilly kill them. We eat them which is allowed in food chain.

I'm from Minnesota where tons of people go hunting just for fun. People would shoot moose and other animals just to hang their heads up on their walls. I saw people killing animals just for the sake of it, so I personally think we actually are killing a lot of them. I mean, there are tons of examples if you think about it. Elephants are getting killed a lot just for their ivories, and furry animals get shot so they can become coats. People are meannn

I know I agree with a lot of people, but I really must agree with Stormy. I think humans are killing Animals just for the sake of it. In Africa, the Black Rhino is on the brink of extinction. The hunters shoot these mammals just for their horn, leaving their dead body to rot. Throughout history, even the first Europeans who came to America killed off thousands of Buffalos just for their hide, leaving their carcass in the sun.

Honestly Popol Vuh is weird story for me I didn't get how come the gods made a mistake then they go ask help to the mother gods ( that was the part when I got really confuse ) and they want the animals to worth-ship them but they couldnt because the dont know how to talk so decide to eat the animals

Even though we are eating animals for survival, that doesn't change the fact that we are killing them. However I think it does justify the killings we make. Although it justifies our actions, it doesn't change the fact that we are still killing animals.

We do eat eat animals and probably thats also considered was killing them as well. Just I guess we have no choice. Animals are important and necessary proteins in our life and like would he harder if we didnt eat any meat. Thats why when we eat, we have to feel thankful and try to eat everything instead of trashing it.

A lot of animals are unnecessarily killed, like the sharks for their fins. I think I'm pretty desensitized to slaughterings because I used to watch them all the time as a kid because in Sudan people slaughter their own animals for holidays. I think for food it's fine but for game or luxuries like ivory like Stormy mentioned, it's really cruel.

umm..yeah we still are killing the animals. I like the point that Sageda mentioned about killing the animals for food is okay but for entertainment or luxury is obviously very harsh. i think its a natural process that animals get killed by us for food so that is definitely should not be taken as a cruel behavior of humans because we have to feed on animals. However, other than eating the animals there should be no other reason to kill them.

Of course we are killing the animals. They are dead when we eat them. I know consuming them seems cruel and unfair but it is part of the food chain. If we don't eat animals like cows, pigs, and chicken, there would be a surplus of them and the food chain would dysfunction. However, some animals are slaughtered for reasons other than eating. For example, elephants are killed for their tusks. Killings like this should be stopped because we don't need skins and ivory to survive.

Though our denials, I think we are killing animals. But I don't we necessarily stop eating beef, pork, or chicken and I think it's impractical. So I think we can do something practical, by not wearing animal skin clothes or not killing them just for fun like Minnesota people.

I agree with Jin Seong and others that we are killing animals. We do not get meats from animals that are dead before. We get meats from killing animals that are alive. And I strongly agree with this idea because some animals are killed by unnecessary reasons. Like Sageda said, sharks are killed for their fins. These are unnecessary thing that only few people eat. Therefore, I think that we are actually killing a lot of animals.

Since we are eating animals, I guess that is kind of like killing animals. The animals are being killed for us to eat so it makes sense that we take part in the killing process. They wouldn't kill them if we weren't going to eat them. Well some people do kill them for fun and stuff but just talking about the animals that are being killed for us to eat, they would only get killed if people were willing to eat it.

Yes, we are killing animals. Killing them to eat them still counts as eating them yet I don't think it should be illegal because we people have no choice and I believe that it is a natural thing to eat animals.Animals also eat themselves due to the food chain(?). However we do not have the right to kill them for our entertainment.
