I think Hinduism brought to society new ideas and beliefs such as reincarnation and Karma, like you said. Also, it has inspired one major religion (Buddhism) and multiple other religions, thereby influencing the beliefs of many people. Not only that, but it's the main religion for many countries, for example India, where more than 80% of the population is Hindu. Since it is a really old religion, I think that it's ideals have unknowingly spread through the world and influenced society's beliefs and ideas throughout the span of time.

I think this concept of "what goes around comes around" encompasses all aspects of our lives, not just religions. People rarely do anything good just for the sake of it. It's for what's to come later. I think most religions revolve around this theory because people want to feel like they are being compensated for all their good deeds.

Yeah I agree with Cesar when he says karma is something believed commonly throughout people who dont believe in Hinduism. I personally believe in karma. Throughout all the 17years ive lived, I think anything bad i did, karma hit me back. Karmas so true because if you think about it, there are consenquences for everything. Whether the consenquence be a good one or a bad one. If you do something good, good things are bound to come your way, and if you do something bad, something bad is bound to come your way too! karma is what makes our lives so interesting.

I think other than the adherents of the religion, it influenced people's minds all around the world. Everyone loves to quote Hindu sayings because they find it so exotic. And like Joon said, it influenced many other religions like Buddhism and Sikhism also, I believe.

To me, Hinduism is a complex religion. Hindus believe in many gods and each of them have different moralities. I come from a country where there are at least 8% Hindus in total population. And within this 8%, there are different levels of Hindus with different beliefs. Some are vegetarians where killing animals is a sin whereas others worship the cow as it represents holiness. Other religions also derived from Hinduism such as Buddhism which consists of peace and the teachings of Gautama Buddha, who was once a Hindu.

I think in general, a lot of different aspects of different religions are used throughout the lives of everyday people. They dont have to be that specific religion, but they still practice it. An example is meditation. Meditation originates from either Buddhism or Hinduism or something but we see people who arent those religions meditate all the time...heck. our homeroom.meditates every morning!

I believe that Hinduism has influenced our society the value of non-violence and peace and most important of all, karma. There were many role models of the Hindu religion who advocated peace and nonviolence and for that reason, I believe that Hinduism is a symbol of peace.

I agree that karma has the most influence in our world today. People today still believe that good deeds get paid for and that wrongdoings never go unpunished. The biggest example is when criminals get arrested and go to jail. People these days believe that crimes should be punished and I think that is a form of karma that still exists today.

i think hinduism is the really why buddism is here right now so yes it did influence the society. thats why we are learning in class even though we dont believe in hinduism. Reincarnation or rebirth influenced people as well. There are still some people who believe that they will be a different kind of living things when they die. it will shape one's moral or the way of living

Hinduism has affected society in many different aspects. In music, even contemporary bands get their influence from ideas and terminologies in hinduism.
