i think during our class discussion, we mentioned arrongance a lot. We said both aquilles and agamenmon were arrogant. its funny how two arrognat people can even try to deal talking to each other. i think out of the two, Aquilles would be the main target for arrogance because he thought he was the best in battle, the best warrior and just the best since he was half god half human. who do you think shows greater arrogance?

I think that both were equally very arrogant, just Agamemnon was more entitled to being arrogant. Agamemnon is a king, and Achilles is just a general under Agamemnon. If anyone has some sort of right to arrogance, a king does. I am not saying that it was good for him to be arrogant, just that the king was more entitled to being arrogant. So, I think in this perspective Achilles is much more arrogant because he even becomes insubordinate because he thinks he is so good.

Well, of course, they are both arrogant. However, i think both of them have enough strength to be arrogant. Achilles is the strongest general in the entire army and Agammemnon is the commander of the whole army. I personally think that Achiiles is more arrogant and selfish. I understand that he has very high self esteem and Aagammenon might have disrespected that. However, Achilles is part of the soldier. I think group is always important than individual, especially in the army. Achiile's should have agreed with Agammemnon and showed him respect.

I think that it was Agamemnon that showed a sense of arrogance. Since he was the king, he held most of the power. Even when he was trying to take away Achilles' war prize, we can depict his arrogance. He probably had the thought in his mind that just because he was the king, he could take anyone's properties whenever he desired to do so. However, I believe that being a king leaves no reason for one to take others' properties without permission, even if people greatly worshiped kings back then.

I think Agamemnon is more arrogant than Achilles is. His throne gave him absolute power over his people, and despite his lack of generosity he thinks of himself as the greatest leader on earth. He does not care of his people's sickness, which was solely Agamemnon's fault. Achilles stood against the king, but I don't think rebellion directly relates to hubris in this case. Agamemnon didn't even try to become a better king, and Achilles had to risk his life to save the people instead.

I also think that Achilles showed the greater arrogance. Achilles asked Agamemnon to give up his war price which was the beautiful daughter of Apollo. Achilles started to despise Agamemnon since Agamemnon didn't want to return the girl. But did Achilles never think about Agamemnon's feeling? Achilles had the war price so he thought asking the other to give up the war price was just a piece of cake. However, Achilles didn't want to give his girl to anyone, either.

I think that Agamemnon was more arrogant. Because Agamemnon knows that, as a king, he could have everything he wants, it gave him the right to be arrogant and become careless about his attitudes toward his subordinates. Achilles, as one of his subordinates, was very respectful and has been fighting for Agamemnon for ten years in the battle. However, Achilles started becoming enraged and acted arrogant after Agamemnon said that he wanted one of his generals' war prizes. So I think that their arrogance is different. While Agamemnon's arrogance is part of his personality and is not embarrased showing it in the daily life, Achilles shows it in some occassions and when someone triggers it inside him.

I think both of them are pretty arrogant, but I would say Achilles is a little bit more. He has the right to be arrogant because he's so good and brave. Elijah said that Agamemnon was entitled to being arrogant, but I'd like to disagree with him because just because you're the king doesn't mean that gives him to right to be a bad guy(?). He still has to keep his character in order for his servants and generals to respect and follow him as a leader. Achilles didn't have to be un-arrogant so he has the right to be arrogant.

Both Agamemnon and Achilles are arrogant, but Achilles is more arrogant. Achilles is in a position lower than Agamemnon, who is the king. However, Achilles didn't listen to the Agamemnon's order of giving his war prize when people under the king are supposed to sacrifice everything. Plus, Agamemnon wasn't even directly asking Achilles. But Achilles was so afraid and selfish that he declared to Agamenon that he doesn't have the right to take away his hard-earned war prize.

i think agamemnon showed most of his arrogance because, as we know he is a king and he has more power and authorithy, i i bet he knows that he is superior. He thinks that the was prize should go to him always doesnt matter the war leaders having it

I believe that they both are very arrogant. They both have power to fight with someone and are on the class that is mostly higher than everyone. So, they both have possibilities to become a arrogant person. However, if I have to choose one, I would choose Achilles because he is a strong warrior but he should not be arrogant at the commander of his army. Nobody should be arrogant against commander, no matter how much strong they are.

Well to sort of defend Achilles, he kind of is half god, half human, he is the best warrior or at least he was the best warrior in that entire army. So I think he does have the right to brag in the same sense as in if for example, you created an incredible work of art that inspired millions you should have the right to be proud about that. But Achilles is overly arrogant and hot headed. Aggamenom in the other hand is only mad because someone defied his kingship and authority which to me sounds kind of pathetic because hes not doing any of the fighting and actual work. He doesnt even create all of the strategies, all the generals do and the kig just chooses from their tactics.

Yeah I think Achilles is the more arrogant one out of the bunch! It wasnt right for Achilles to be rude to the king. It wasnt his place to say those these things. And for him to automatically assume that the king was referring to his war prize, that shows his arrogance. It shows he thinks he's the best warrior. How narcissistic can you be to talk back to your king like that? geez..

I agree with other people that said Achillies is more arrogant. He is in a lower position than the king and the fact that he was picking up a fight with the king shows that he thinks he is higher than the king. Agamemnon is really arrogant too but I think every king is arrogant to a certain degree. I mean, if you have all that power, wouldn't everyone become arrogant to a certain point?

I think Achillies was more arrogant. I can understand Agamemnon since he was the king but Achillies was in the lower position. If the king gives up his war prize, he should also give up his as well. And Agamenmnon deserved the war prize. Achillies was arrogant enough to order the king what to do and fight with him.
