I also agree with those who said that the death penalty is not necessary. Although those people might have committed terrible crimes there are other ways to punish them. We don't have the right to judge whether another person deserves to live or not. Also as mentioned before, what if we killed a person and it turns out he or she didn't commit the crime? The punishment is irreverible that makes me think that it is unnecessary.

I'm for the death penalty in very specific cases. The death penalty is effective. The authority implementing it is flawed. I agree with Cesar saying that it gives the government a lot of power but that is the problem of the government. Not the death penalty itself. If implemented right, it could be a great deterrent.

I do not support the death penalty because it is practically like capital punishment. The government kills people who slaughtered another human being. But it could have been an accident or the killer might have psychological problems. This isn't their fault. And many innocent people have been killed through capital punishment because of the lack of evidence. The government are behaving the same as murderers by killing murderers. So the government should be the better person and not take an eye for an eye.
What about soldiers? Why aren't they killed after a war is over? They slaughtered other people. Where is their punishment? Their reasons for killing is different but killing is killing. The governemnt is obviously unfair by only killing murderers and not killing soldiers. Therefore, I believe no one has the right to murder someone else. But if they do, they shouldn't be killed. They should be sentenced to prison.

I think death penalty is necessary because in our world there are people who dont bad things such as murder, etc. they need a death penalty for them but i think death penalty is for those who cannot change their actions or behavior that they are doing than yes they deserved to die.

To be honest, this isn't a real simple question lol There are many perspectives on this issue. However, I don't believe in death penalties. Even though one has commited a crime, death shouldn't really be an option because every human beings have rights. I mean, electrocuting people, for instance, isn't that too cruel? Well, I think so.

um...... dealth penalty should be considered as illegal. These days there are alot of crimes but the solution for these horrible problems should not solved with death penalty. there will be another way to make criminals to regret at what they have done. For example jail- criminals locked in to the jail and blocked from outside world. And they get to think what they have done resulted this situation.

yes, death penalties should be necessary. People who deserve death penalties are people who commit very bad crimes. Not only for the punishment, if people know that there is death penalty people would try not to do more crimes

Nuclear weapon is necessary and will be used to make peace, they said. Well then Death penalty is necessary. death penalty still exist in Saudi Arabia. The government is really strict with the rules because the rules of Saudi Arabia is based on the holy Koran. I'm not saying that the Koran tells the Muslim people to hold on to the death penalty and kill the human being. I'm saying that the death penalty is needed to warn them and behave themselves from unnecessary thing that will destroy themselves and be peaceful to one another.

i am agree with what julie stated if that it is up to God who would live or who would die. But i think death penalty is necessary. but the problem is, if the trial want to decide this penalty, they should investigate it really carefully and aware of every evidence that could support for this penalty. its pretty difficult, but in my opinion death penalty is really necessary. especially for high class of criminality

I wouldn't support death penalty. Death penalty is discriminatory. It is used for eliminating the vulnerable, poor and controversial people. Also, no data has shown that death penalty is more useful than life imprisonment.

I personally think that the death penalty is a very extreme punishment against the people who commit extremely action that endangering the life of society, and I think it should be use against those people who disrespect the society life.

I think for some situation or crime, death penalty should be given. Now days, there are many people who are committing crimes a lot and still gets weak punishments. So, this makes sometimes people to commit more crimes or again. If there are stricter punishments, people might think more to them and reduces crimes in our society. Therefore, it depends on the situation that punishment can be death penalty or not.

I believe that death penalty may be necessary, but not in all cases. This is because in some cases, the society seems to be too strict on certain issues while at other times, the rules seem to be too free. Death penalties are scary since it involved killing people but, if thats what gets people to understand their mistakes and feel their wrongdoings, then it should happen.

Well, personally I think the death penalty is needed. If the punishment for crime is not harsh enough, people will not fear and they will continue to commit crimes. So I think harsh punishment such as the death penalty will bring fear to people and will reduce the crime rate at least a little bit more. Also I think people like the serial killers should be put onto death penalty since they are killing so many innocent people.

"Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God made he man." I believe that this quote is very correct. If one hurts somebody, that person should also be hurt, I think this is very fair. But I don't think death penalty does not do anything. I think people should imprison the criminals for many years until they learn that life is precious. Even though most people want criminals to be sentenced death penalty, I don't think it's late to teach them how wrong and terrible they have done before they die.
