Ray's wife, Mary pretends to be like a normal person and marries Ray. She knew that her power would weaken and die soon if she stays with Hancock. I first understanded her for doing that because I am also afraid of death. But then I thought even though she lives with a normal person she would see him get older and die one day.. And she can't even use her powers while living with him. She can't save people with her power. Don't you think this is meaningless? What do you guys think? I would rather stay with Hancock if I love him.

If Mary truly loved Hancock, she would have stayed with him. She got a little selfish by only thinking of herself dying and losing her powers. She did not think about the internal struggles Hancock was dealing with. Hancock had no idea who he was and where he was from for 80 years. And as you said, life is meaningless when there is no end. I mean if I could live forever, I would probably be very lazy and never put any effort in doing something because I have all the time in the world.

one of the reason why did she left hancock is because everytime they started to love each other they turned into human. and many people wanted to hurt them, and Mary decided its better to leave separately. Hancock was amnesia though, so he'll start from zero when she left her. i think we couldnt just blame her that she left hancock. its for the good of both of them. and its not wrong for mary to starts a new life by married to a normal person, even its useless. at least you have something to do while shes living. cause she's immortal right? nah, its confusing. no one can be blamed in here.

I think I would rather stay with Hancock also. Like we discussed before in class, life has no meaning if there is no death. She must live such a boring life even though she is happy, but there is nothing for her to really live for. She is just wasting her powers and being greedy with her life. If she wanted normal that bad that she married Ray then wouldn't she want to just live a full life and then die? I don't really get her. I think staying with Hancock is better.

I would stay with Hancock also! Hancock might've been the strongest man on the planet, but he was always lonely. I think she thought leaving him was the best for him, but she always missed him after all. Living forever doesn't sound that appealing to me. I would rather spend my life with the person i love, and enjoy it till it lasts. And like you said, seeing your husband Ray die sounds terrible!

What i wonder is what shes gonna do about the aging? She doesnt age so when Ray becomes a grampa, shes still gonna be her young self! what is she going to do in that case senario? I dont know what to think about your question. I understa.d she wants to keep her powers and still find happiness as a normal person so isnt what shes doing now a good thing? but then, if she really loves hancock that bad, then why is she with Ray? I dont know what would be the best solution for this. I think she thinks its a win win situation for her to keeo her powers and have a normal loving life with Ray.

Yeah i agree I mean seeing the person that you love diying is really really hard. I have never experienced before but how it would feel is just terrible. I don;t even want to imagen. I would rather go to Hancock to and stay with him long time and die with him when she loves him.

I agree with you. If Mary cannot use her superhuman power both when she's with Hancock and without Hancock, it is meaningless to live without someone who she really loves. And I also think it is kinda betrayal of Ray since he has to live with Mary who truely loves someone else.

I personally don't think she wasted her super power by staying with an normal man. Because Mary and Hancock can't use their super powers when they got together. Otherwise Hancock can well use his super power to save people while Mary was hiding somewhere. But I think Mary should at least leave a massage for Hancock like telling him who he was and why she left him.

Oh I didn't know that that was why she didn't want to be with him. I understand her fear of getting weaker, but what's the point in having that superpower if she's not going to use it in a helpful way? The only thing I saw her do was break stuff, and I think I'd want her to actually not have that superpower. At least Hancock tries to save people and use his skills in a meaningful way. Just as Jessica said, I think it'd be meaningless if she were to keep her superpowers and try to live like a normal person. I'd rather just die with the person I love.

I don't think that just because she has super powers that it is somehow her duty to go around saving people. If she wants to have a normal life then she should. And it's smart of her to stay away from Hancock cause then she would DIE. I would've done the same.

I kind of agree with you. I rather die with a person I love than looking at my wife dying next to me. It would be painful and I wouldn't be able to live alone. I would feel alone when she die... And I think its same with friends. my friends will be die one by one and I can't do anything about it. It would definitely be painful..

If you already have someone beside you, then why did you leave? If i was that girl, I wouldnt leave Hancock and follow my ego because it seems so selfish. I wouldnt leave the person i love just to be immortal because i wont be immortal without the person i love

I think that Ray's wife decided to stay away from Hancock to protect him. In the movie, she tells Hancock that he almost died several times trying to protect her, and she couldn't see Hancock getting hurt anymore. If I was her, then I would've stayed with Hancock anyways. If you die, you die.
