In the movie Hancock, we see Hancock's personality slowly changing. He starts to appreciate people around him, and tries to interact with ordinary people. I thought it was interesting how he kept telling the police officers that they've done a "good job," for he always stood against authorities before this incident. What do you think made Hancock to change?
I personally think when Hancock was in jail for a while, he matured a little bit and learned to submit to authorities as well. What do you think-?

I agree that Hancock matured a lot after he stayed in the jail. Also, I consider Ray was an influential person who made Hancock changed. Ray was the only one who supported and suggested Hancock to be a real positive hero. Hancock received love from Ray which Hancock never had before.

Ray did a really good job in this movie, he made hancock change his mind and think deep when he was in jail. Remember the scene when he was on the basketball court or whatever you call it in jail? he was staring at the ball and in my opinion, thats when he thought about himself and what he has done.

I also agree with you. I think he learned a bit while he was in jail. Also I think he began to realize that what Ray said was right. I think he began to realize that people would like him if he respected the authorities. So I think this realization caused Hancock to change a bit.

True. I think he just needed a place where he felt like he could fit in and have people listen to his side of the story. The dude helping him (forgot his name) and the support group might have done the trick. He realized that he wasn't entirely alone in this world and he should stop acting like he was.

I agree that Hancock's jail experience helped him to mature and appreciate life around him. Being in jail made Hancock interact with other people and also let the society realize how valuable he is. Before, he was angry and bitter that he was alone with no one's attention. I also think Ray helped Hancock much, too. Ray was the first person to try and guide Hancock to change and success. Ray really worked hard to show him the good sides of world to Hancock and cared about him.

Yeah, I agree. It was pretty amazing to see an arrogant, selfish, wreckless super hero develop into this chill, calm, heroic man. I think the environment did have a significant effect on him but I think what mostly affected him was Ray's family. As he was stressed out from all the people hating him when he was in Jail, there was this one scene in which Ray's wife, and Aron, his son, visited Hancock and brought meatballs and Aron encouraged him by saying that he is his favorite hero and after he gave hancock his favorite toy, he was motivated to stay because he had people who cared for him now. Also, this is applicable to Ray as well, as he visited quite often.

I agree. While Hancock was in jail, he was able to meet people, live with them, so he interacted with them and felt closer to them than before. Since he went to jail, people also thought that he was like them and saw some parts of human rather than God. After staying a while with those "normal" people he felt like he should care for them. Ray gave him a chance to look back and grow as a hero.

Well its about Sang's topic but he said that Hancock Changed a lot when Marry came to jail with Aron to give Spaghetti for Hancock. I agree with Sang that Hancock changed a lot at that time because he finally had somebody that cared about him. Before he met Ray, He had nobody who cared for him for 80 years and I would be able to live for that long. People have to live as a group and having no care will bring sadness and loneliness. That is why kids who are bullied commit suicide.

i agree that Ray's idea to brought Hancock into jail could helped him a lot. Because since he entered the jail, he knows how to calm and more appreciate another people, for example when he came to the place where there was bank robbery. he always compliment all the police officers by saying "good job!" hahah. and another event that showed us how did he shifted his personality is when Ray's son visited him on the jail, and it really motivated him because he knew that there's someone cares about him

I also think that the time that Hancock spent in jail made him change as he became more patient and calmer than before. I think that the jail made him recognize how valuable freedom is since, before he was in jail, Hancock could do almost everything he wanted to do. Also Ray was very important in this movie, too, because he was the one who stood up for Hancock, after Hancock saved him from the train. He also suggested Hancock what he could do to make his public's image better. Even though Hancock did not quite agree with Ray at the beginning, he still did it because he wanted to be respected and accepted by the public.

Like most of us here , I, too agree that Ray brought significant changes over Hancock's personality. I personally think that before Hancock met Ray, he was like a diamond in the rough. Hancocks relationship with the public wasn't good enough but rather, Hancock did not care about how he was portrayed to the publics. He was like a transcendentalist because he could do anything he wants with his power and nobody was stopping him for it. However, after meeting ray, Hancock might have had an internal struggle that there is actually someone that cared for him. Ray probably had been the first man that Hancock ever remembers to show respect and care for him that it made Hancock to follow Ray. As a result, Ray's plan succeed in making Hancock a superhero.

I think he changed a lot every since he has met Jay. Before he met Jay, he always felt like he didn't belong anywhere so there was no reason for Hancock to appreciate people around him. However, now that he had friends, like Jay and Jay's son, who truly cared about him and knew that he can belong somewhere, he was able to truly appreciate people around him. So I think Ray played a really important role in Hancock's life for letting Hancock know how to appreciate people and LOVE.

One of the most important factors that influence human personality is our environment. Since Hancock saved Ray when he was almost crashed by train, Ray and Hancock became friend. In addition, Ray was good friend, he wanted to make Hancock a nice person and taught him to appreciate our society and taught him to say ¡°Good job¡± to people. Therefore, by saying ¡°good job¡± to people, we started to see his personality and how he was changed in the society.
