I think an ideal leader should be able to look at things in many different perspectives. He should have insight, and think of his people before his own self. The scene that was interesting to me was the one when Rama weeps over the charioteer's death. Despite that he was in the middle of a battle, he took a moment to grieve for his trusted man.

I think a good leader ought to be fair. They also needs to know how to serve before they make others serve them or obey them. I think that's a good way to understand the perspective of the people that are in a lower position than them. If the leaders themselves don't know how to follow others and serve their own people, then they don't deserve to be leaders. I also think they should be fair because favoritism is one of the best ways to hurt people. I've been under a leader who showed a lot of favoritism and caused drama within the team.

well to me i think that bravery, kind, polite, respectful, etc. he/she will make a good leader because it shows how important he/she is and how good are they on their behavior and attitude. if a leader has a bad attitude then i wouldnt follow him/her.

I think that there is 3 things that make a good leader: courage, responsibility and modesty A leader shouldn't be scared to make decisions that other people are reluctant to do. I think he/she should not hesitate in making decisions, even if it goes against the belief of the majority and he/she should not hesitate to make the right decision.
A good leader should always be responsible and always try to meet the needs of his people. He/she should not avoid the problems they are facing but confront them.
And most important of all, a leader should always be humble. It is important to be confident in front of his/her people, but when facing other leaders, I think it is just as important to be humble.

Leader..... it is such as hard job i think. I think definition of leader has changed through out time? In my country, most powerful person becomes leader and it hurted my people. I think good leader has to be open minded and should be readay to listen to many different people's opinion. If leader just does what he wants, it will turn out to be a dictator which harms so many innocent people.

I think a good leader should follow the rules and set an example for his people. That way, the people will respect him. Also, a good leader should always put his citizens first and listen to their cries, not being selfish or greedy. Last but not least, they need to be confident and have leadership skills. No one wants to folllow a leader who is anxious about what others think and can't make a speech in front of a large group of people.

I think the good leaders should have much ability to lead the group or other people. For example, one who is a great leader should not be selfish. When a leader is selfish, other people will not treat him or her as a leader and respect him or her. Also, the great leaders should have ability to make others listen to him, because a leader is one who needs to lead other people. If one do not listen to the leader, then there might be war or fight in a group or country. Therefore, great leaders need to have ability to lead other people by not being selfish and having power to make others listen to him.

Well his respect inspire me a lot in terms of considering his soldiers and even enemies. He didn't have to do that but his personality lead him to respect every single person. For many people, respecting every single person and especially the enemy.

I think Rama covered most of the characteristics you need to be a good leader. Traits like wisdom, honor, courage, compassion, swiftness, and charisma are important. Also, you must know how to listen to your people, and care for them as you lead. Swift judgement and a strong mind and determination are important as well for desperate and hard times. I also noticed that you should have a strong voice or you would be mocked and not taken seriously. Another example of a great leader is Arslan in Narnia. He rules with respect and admiration, and he cares for his people. Also, he has the strength and charisma needed to rule the people. He also has a nice voice. and a cool mane.

I think charisma goes a long way. Even if you aren't seemingly the best leader ever, if you come off as one, then people seem to follow you anyways. He/she also has to be a person of their words. Nobody wants to follow a person who says one thing and does another.

being a tyrant and having complete power over people it does not help one being a good leader. i think a leader should rule for the people and know what the people want. Respecting their people and surrounding will help become a good leader because u will get respect from the people and reduce rebels.

There are so many characteristics that a good leader should have...to me, being cool-headed is the most important aspect of a good leader. It means that he should not be so emotional but be calm and prompt at giving a solution when there is any hardship. As other people said, a good leader should respect his followers' opinion. However, this does not mean he should always be following his people's opinions-he should consider if it is wise before he acts. In this sense, a good leader should be charismatic in order to persuade his people to do something intelligent.

I think that a good leader is someone that can earn respect from people around him. A respected leader would probably mean that this person has done something respectful and has therefore, gained respect from his people as well. Some people may believe that a good leader is someone who can dictate his land well. But, dictation is not all about being a good leader, since by being a harsh dictator, one can be easily hated by his people.

I agree with you. I think good leaders do not dictate but discuss with their people. They are respected by their people for their wisdom. Also I think good leaders have great charisma.

I think it is very difficult to be a good leader. My definition of good leader is not someone who is just powerful than others but someone who deserves to be respected. I have met many different types of leaders as my sports team coaches and i feel inspired by coaches who i truly respect. In order to be a good leader, he or she has to demonstrate them as someone respectful not necessarily the powerful one. I agree that to some extent leaders have to have power to shout down people, but communication should come first.
