So in class we discussed a lot about what makes Rama a good leader. What do you guys think makes a good leader?
I think that being able to get the respect of the people you lead is a necessary trait. I feel like they have to trust and respect in order for them to listen to you. Also, I think that to be a good leader you actually have to care about the people that you lead.

I think that a leader should listen to every people in the society and engage/include everyone. Moreover, I believe that a good leader should be motivated.

I agree that a good leader should listen and respect the opinions of his citizens, and care about them. However, a good leader should also be able to think logically and have good sense of judgment whether the opinions of the citizens could benefit or harm the country. He or she must able to predict what is going to happen next, so the leader could undertake an action, which will support the country.

I think that a good leader should have the ability to motivate other people. Without being able to motivate others, the leader wouldn't be able to make any improvements or developments. They should also respect others and have others respect them. As Jessica said, I think having logic and a good sense of judgment is an important characteristic of a leader as well.

I think a good leader is one who isnt arrogant, but considers herself/himself as an equal as all of her/his people. Tursting and valuing their peoples opinions is also an important trait for a good leader. I think for a leader, his most important element to his leadership is his people. Without his people, he wouldnt be a leader. In the case of Ravana, whats the point of being a leader if in the most troubled times, your people go against you, rather than having your back? I think its good to listen to your people, but its also good to have your own stance as well.

in my opinion, a good leader should be: - the one who could listen and understand about his/her people. - stand against majority and fight for the truth, because people may be mistaken. stories may be incorrect. ideas may be wrong. But truth doesn't change. - intelligent - have a bravery to make a big changes. - think about the other before himself - always appreciate other people opinion and of course, if a leader like this..all of his people will respect him because he respect the others. also, he could decide every problem quickly with the best option. i wish i could become this guy someday

Goods leaders should be able to lower themselves and care about the minority. The minority would be people who are poor and isolated from the society. A good leader's job is to help them so they could be part of the society. A leader who cares about the small group is a good leader because this means that he/she really cares about his people. By doing this, there would be more people trusting the leader.

I think what Rama makes a good leader is that he respects other people. He respected his own enemy, Ravannah; he respected his son in law; he respected the monkeys and etc. Also, he was generous and gentle in a way that he let Ravannah recover when Ravannah was hurt. I think that part really makes him stand out because most other people use that as a chance to get rid of their enemies.

I think in order to be considered a good leader, one should care not just about himself but also about one's people and respect each one of their opinions. One should know how to listen to others and try to satisfy what his people want and need. Unlike Ravana, a good leader should not only think about himself but should be thankful to his people for fighting on his side and following his commands. A good leader should be able to realize that without the help of his army, he will not be able to fulfill his duty.

I believe that it is necessary for good leaders to be able to view others in different perspective. It is important for a leader to understand people in their situation and be able to see and catch the main problems. As others mentioned, I believe gaining respect and able to motivate others are also important, but, I think these things come after when a leader sees and truly understand the others.

I think confidence is neccessary for being a great leader. A good leader has to be someone that has a firm confidence about their actions, decisons and thoughts. Whether that actions or decisions is morally right or wrong, confidences can earn people's trust and respect. Confidences also means that there is future ahead of them or at least there is something ahead of it which attract people to follow one's vision. It can be a strong weapon to move and influence people.

I think a good leader should be powerful at first. If a person is too weak and have no charisma to control people, this person is not a good leader. And once he is powerful enough, then he should be respectful and considerate towards his people. That way, people have no reason to go against this powerful leader!

a good leader has to be responsible for everything he has done. He has to stop talking about his problem, assuming and convincing people that he always right but he's not because he's assuming things, and stop making an excuse for what he has missed like all politicians do hmm or maybe most of them -___-. and a good leader better make a plan and take an action for a change. A leader has to be strong, strategic, and he has to show people that he has to be respected.

As for me, a good leader should be a good negotiator and a charismatic person. First, a negotiation is important because in order for the leader to maintain a good relationship with others and satisfy everyone in the group, he needs to listen to others' opinions and apply them to the final decision. Thus, to properly represent the group and prevent fights, he needs to be a good negotiator. In addition, a good leader should have charisma. This is because a leader controls the group and to direct the group well, he should not be swayed by others.
